Welcome Biola Students!
The Trident Sailing Foundation was created to facilitate and promote the advancement of sailing, teamwork, and seamanship in a maritime environment, with the emphasis on serving our youth and collegiate students.
We’re launching 2023 by offering a limited number of FULLY PAID scholarships for a select number of Biola University students to either learn how to sail or, if the student has some sailing experience, to further their skills. This is made possible through public and private donations. Our lead collegiate volunteer is a Biola student herself.
Requirements to be considered for this scholarship and participate in this program are:
Be a current student of Biola University in good standing
Fill out the application form
Have a genuine interest in small boat (CFJ) sailing - no prior knowledge or sailing skills necessary
Be available to regularly attend sailing classes (typically once/week for 3-4 hrs per class)
If application is approved, we will conduct an interview via Zoom
Be available to volunteer (not more than one event/day per semester)
Agree to and sign the liability waiver and photo release (once awarded a scholarship)
The foundation provides grants and scholarships in the effort to offset and reduce financial burden of sailing lessons, regatta fees, equipment, and maritime education to sailors and organizations that encourage the advancement of sailing.
The Foundation meets and achieves its goals through individual donations and gifts, corporate contributions, foundation and government grants, and fees for goods and services provided.
