Sailing Scholarship Application
Who can apply?
(Please also read “Important instructions” further down the page)
You need to be a current student (please use your school email when applying).
Those who have a desire to learn to sail, or, have a desire to continue building on previous sailing experience. There is the potential to eventually sail competitively in regattas.
Those able to regularly attend sailing classes (classes are typically once/week for four weeks, held on Fridays or Saturday/Sundays and last 3-4 hours per class). Currently, classes are held at OCC Sailing in Newport Beach.
Those available to volunteer (one day per semester while on a scholarship).
Those willing to sign the liability waiver and photo release.
If application is approved, we will conduct an interview via Zoom to determine final award recipients.
Scholarship recipients will be awarded one (1) 4-week sailing group session, consisting of one lesson per week. Additional sessions may be awarded based on available funds, student attendance at classes and adherence to our code of conduct agreement. Currently, classes are held at OCC Sailing in Newport Beach and is not affiliated or owned by Trident Sailing Foundation.
All applications are evaluated by the Trident Sailing Foundation review board and kept strictly confidential. Recipients are awarded scholarships based on their application, Zoom interview, classroom space/availability and available funds.
Scholarships may be discontinued or revoked at any time.

We will contact you via email and text within 48 hours regarding your application status.
